More about the Book
An exerpt from our proposal
“Meet the Skele-Tones: A Spine-tingling Introduction to Our Bones” is an illustrated children’s book about palaeoanthropology. Our anecdote follows Skelly Tones, a skeleton with no race or gender so youthful readers can identify with the protagonist and their pursuit of historical education. As our story unfolds, Skelly introduces the reader to their family members, each representing a vital hominin in our human lineage and presenting a fun fact pertaining to their excavated fossil. While the old fossils (“grandparents”) might reminisce about their characteristics and behavior back in the day, newer fossils (“children”) would explain interesting trivia about the reader’s modern biology.
From evolutionary biology to ethics, the main objective of the project is to cultivate childrens’ interest concerning their evolution, origin, and complicated, yet blessed existence. We hope to encourage students to ponder about the wonder of how contemporary life came to be and to foster appreciation for their unique identity.
