My art is heavily influenced by my surroundings and this portfolio tells my story; from my origins in Thailand, to my move overseas to the UK. The subject matter of the chosen works revolves around family members back home, friends at my boarding school, and how our lives have been affected by current issues such as the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change.
Many of the pieces included below begin in the form of graphite sketches within the pages of my sketchbook or digital sketches on the iPad app, Procreate. Following this, an experimentation process is conducted to familiarize myself with new mediums, such as clay sculpting and textiles. Finally, the creation of the final piece begins based on notes made from the previous two stages.
Furthermore, I have had many opportunities to dip my toes into many different aspects of design; 2D, 3D, traditional, and digital. I have garnered a diverse array of technical skills from working with a myriad of mediums.
This portfolio also includes collaborative work, for which I have indicated my contributions as well as my collaborators’ input. Having worked on innovative platforms, such as smartphone apps, helped me understand the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration within our rapidly developing world. I have learned to adapt my fine arts skills to a more pragmatic setting, and I look forward to learning ways to continue doing so in the future.
With that said, I hope you will enjoy looking at this portfolio as much as I did making it.
